editing a post wont allow to change the title

I just found that I can not change the title of a post or edit it but I can change the body of the message. That was not the case with the old version of this board. I used to change/edit the title after posting within 5 minutes or so. Not big deal but just fyi type a post.

You are correct that you cannot edit a thread title. If there was a compelling need to do so (eg something offensive was in the title) then you can use the Report button at the bottom of the first post and ask for it to be changed & a moderator will assess the request & make the change if needed. However, we are not keen to make changes to thread titles for a minor mis-spelling or something like that.
