Thanks to help on here, I have managed to set up my spreadsheet to use the Bing Maps API to calculate the travel distance and time between two locations. At the moment I have got this working using latitude and longitude values for the two locations, however my source data is provided in twelve figure grid reference (eastings and northings). There doesn't appear to be any option with the Bing Maps API to work with these grid references or convert them to latitude and longitude values first.

Has anybody found a way of successfully converting between these two location values? Using an alternative API is also an option to either just convert the grid references before sending to Bing, or for doing the travel calculations also. But I do unfortunately need to use a free API.

Thanks in advance.

Im no expert in this but, maybe your data is in POSGAR format or something similar? I don't know about any API to do this but i know about a page which may help you.

With this page, i use from time to time, you can convert you data to whatever format (I think they are called Datums). There are many data types/formats to choose from (by country and so forth):

You can upload a text file and you will get the converted data.
