Dynamic title in Pivot Chart not working when based on data model

I am creating a Pivot Chart by formatting my data as a table, inserting a Pivot Chart, and checking the option 'Add this data to the data model' (so that I can have a standalone Pivot Chart without a supporting Pivot Table).

I want the Title of the Pivot Chart to be dynamic, based on the value in a particular cell. However, when I select the chart Title box and then enter a formula (e.g. "=Sheet1!A1") in the formula bar, the formula disappears when I hit [Enter].

This process works fine if I create a Pivot Chart without checking the option 'Add this data to the data model'.

Any advice on how I can get this to work? Thanks in advance.
