I2 is where the data starts and goes out by columns always on row 2 and the number of columns is indicated in cell G20

Perhaps =INDEX(I2:INDEX(I2:AA2,G20))

says too few arguments for this
=INDEX(I2:INDEX(I2:AA2,G20))

Sorry try =(I2:INDEX(I2:AA2,G20)) as your range
