Hi everyone,
I keep an Excel file that charts my blood pressure readings from an Access database.
To indicate where I started taking a tablet for my blood pressure, I inserted a vertical line on that date. I also inserted a horizontal line for the level, after which is considered high readings.

However, as the graph evolves with later data, I find that the lines are moving, and do do not reflect the true position.

Is there a way to keep them in the same place at all please?

TIA

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Ok, I was trying to do it with a single cell. :(

This video showed me I could do it with another column, which I have just done. That works for the horizontal line only though? Is there some method for the vertical please?

Hi,
Thank you for the reply. The data is already in a table and the chart expands with the data.
I have resolved the horizontal line issue, by adding another column with same value in all rows.
Now looking to see if I can create the vertical line with a similar method. I have tried and single cell on the required date, but that did not work,

Hi, I've not tried any of them, but there are some ideas you could try here.

Thank you.
That is a fair bit to take in. At present when I add a line like that, the rest of the chart disappears, so will have to experiment.

Thanks again.
