Good Morning All,

I am looking for a way to track costs at a quick glance. We have a spreadsheet of costs which is used by Admin staff but the directors would like to see what the monthly budget for certain things is and what is left just at a quick glance so I was thinking of adding a dashboard on a separate tab, a bit like a front page, but I'm not sure the best way to go about it. On our costs spreadsheet we have quite a lot of information and all that would be needed on the dashboard would be the 'cost code/column M', the 'GL code/column N' and the 'Net amount/column J' but obviously if Cost code E81000 was selected and GL code 123 then we would want to see only costs that were assigned to both of those codes. We could enter the budget for each GL code manually (I think).

Would Dynamic drop down lists be the way forward or is there a better way? (I have had 3 weeks off work so my brain is out of sorts and I am quite possibly missing something obvious 🙃)

Thank you for any help anyone can offer.

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.

Is this the same as this post. Filter by month on separate tab?
