Morning All,

I have a drop down list in cell C33. When I select an item, cell C36 is filled and the next 2 column cells D36 and E36 auto fill by using VLOOKUP. Cell D36 contains code number and E36 contains the rate. Half of the list from cell E36 have precise rates (like 0.01%, 0.025% etc) and the other half have rates that vary from 1% to 100%.

Is there a way to use the existing cell to including the option for the other half of the rate that vary in percentage? Or is there another way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
I think you are going to need to show some sample data, along with expected results pleas, I could not make out what you want :(

If you are asking if you can add anything to the DD cell (in addition to the existing DD) - then the answer is probably no

Hi FDibbins,

Thanks for your comment.

The table looks like this.

Drop Down List: NAME (Cell C33)

NAME (Cell C36) CODE (Cell D36) RATE (Cell E36)
Collect item from C33 CODE from 1 to 15 some have precise rate (0.01%, 0.025%, 0.35%, 8.889% etc)
some rates vary (5% to 100%)

I did a VLOOKUP for the precise rate which works fine but am having difficulties trying to add the rates that vary as well. Will this work? If not, is there another to do this?

Hope this helps.
