Hi All. I have a Excel work book with two sheets in it. On sheet two there are two columns called Material Type (cells A2-A200) and Material Weight (cells B2-B200)

On Sheet one there are a few columns but in Colome D I can select from the drop down list of Material Type taken from Cells A2-A200 on sheet two.

What I would like is that in Column E on sheet one for the respective weight, taken from Column B on sheet two, to appear in the cell depending on what I select for the Type in Column D. I hope that makes sense.
Is it possible and how can i do it?

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
What version of Excel are you using?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

You can use the vlookup function for what you are trying to do VLOOKUP Function
