Drag and fill issue

Just found that when I drag cells in a series the number that used to show in the bottom right corner to show what number/date etc you had dragged to has disappeared - the number/date etc updates in the name box - just annoying to keep looking in the top left of the spreadsheet as I drag - any idea how i change this back??

I don't have that problem. What version Excel / Office do you have?

Mine is Version 2406 Build 16.0.17726.20078

Excel Drag Option

Hi, When I select a range of cells, generally at the corner of the range the cursor changes to a slanting shape with two arrows on each side allowing me to..

Here's two screenshots - the first is my home computer - the second is my work computer
When I drag on my home computer you see the next number in the sequence as you drag (picture 1)
When i drag on my work computer the next number in the sequence is where the cell number is (upper left) - A2 in the 1st picture - 4 in the 2nd picture
Both computers have the same version of Excel - just so annoying to keep looking in the left corner rather looking at what you are dragging

I can't find any other references to this, nor how you could change this behaviour
