Hi All,

I am working through a tutorial on Power Query and it is asking me to disable "Load to Worksheet" check box in the Power Settings Pane... however...i dont seem to have this...not for the workbook anyway...

I can access the Load Settings options for the Global Default Settings but i dont really want to do this...

See screenshots...
  • Load Settings Missing in Power Settings Pane
  • Load Settings - what i was expecting to see for the query in the Power Settings Pane
  • Global Load Settings - i have access to this but i dont want to changer the global response
Thanks in advance
Ian

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
Is there something i am missing to be able to see the Load Settings options in the Power Settings Pane?

I dont think i should be editing global Load Settings for individual queries i am creating from the File>Options menu

The screenshots i have in the tutorial show the Load Settings available on the Power Settings Pane for the query which makes sense but I dont have that option... it doesnt contain it

I hope that makes sense?

in short
- you can use default settings - each query will be loaded to the sheet or/and to data model
- you can turn it off - and you have chance to decide how your query will work

- you can find more query setting in the context menu (right click on query)

Hi...

Yes i have been using the default query load settings but they're global default settings rather than just query specific ones... I know in Excel you can right click on your queries to get "Load..." context to each query you have made, which includes "Connection Only" option (rather than "loading in the data") but i was thinking within Power Query itself...

I dont suppose you know if the reason i cant see the settings directly in the Query Settings Pane (as i have put in my screenshot), is because its Office 365?

Just wondering...

Thanks for the reply

there is no option like you think
I don't use 365 because there is too many unnecessary bells&whistles

I've settings like in post#4 and I don't need repetitive options everywhere
what you show is just what I said: too many unnecessary bells&whistles
check version and type of Office where these options are
