Does the Excel binary file contain "old" information about the workbook?

[FONT=&quot]I have a script that uses CPAN's Spreadsheet::ParseExcel. It parses the spreadsheet just fine except that it parses a worksheet that was deleted from the workbook a long time ago. At one time the workbook contained 3 worksheets. The third was deleted years ago but the script still finds the 3rd worksheet which is blank, but this is annoying. Thanks for any help[/FONT]
