Is there a limit to how many times Excel will allow a refresh to a query table within a certain time period?
I am constantly facing an issue where I refresh my query tables and they take forever to update causing me to cancel the operation. Sometimes -- not often -- they actually complete in a short time. But I cannot figure out why this happens. I've turned off background refreshing, but that doesn't appear to be helping.
These tables are not that complex, in my opinion. I'm doing a few merges, a calculation and reordering. The only thing I can think of is that I have at least a dozen or so query tables and a couple of connections in my workbook. Is the refresh time based on how many of these I have even though I'm not refreshing them all at once?
