As above,

Does microsoft access store information about when a record was createed internally? If so is there a way to access this?

I need it for some work im doing on Level Of Change and ECP Status here in Configuration Management, We are trying to convert what we used to do in excel into access as we have just made a new database to keep track of changes and modificaions.

basically to keep track of which mods were created when.

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
You could add a field of date/time type and set it's default value to Now().

I think Now() may change each time you view it in the table.
Only way to get a record time stamp is to insert it with code into a field.

It doesn't change.

In Excel it would.

Holy Cupcakes!
I think I've...no, I've just done what I've accused others of doing. Mixing up Excel limitations swith Access limitations.

30 seconds of testing showed me that it won't help if I wanted a 'last time modified' time stamp but it definately works when you first create the record. Nice trick.
