Hi,

I have total value (it can be any value) but here is 1896 i want to divide it with (it can be any divide amount) but here is 3 i want formula to show me either zero if its fully divided or show me the value which is remaining but less than the dividing value.

A1 - In above example the Divide value is 3
B1 - The Total value is 1896

So, the formula should show Zero because it's fully divided, but incase there is remaining 1 or 2 then formula should show what is remaining and it should not be greater than 2 since we are dividing it with 3, the both value is not fixed so, need flexible formula to work with any total value and divide value.

I hope its clear to understand.

Many thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Try this formula...
=MOD(A1,3)
No its not a correct formula for my query, if i use 1508 and divide it with 3 it gives me answer in decimals which is 1.667, but i want the single digit number should remain it has to be less then divide amount you can say in this particular scenario the remaining will be 1 or 2 if divided completely than Zero 0.
