Hi all,

I am a low-budget business owner and don't have the money to spend on accounting software. So, without further ado, I will lay out my idea and hopefully, someone could help me.

I have 3 tabs in Excel (daily activities, Income, and expenses)

Instead of adding information to each tab, I would like to use the daily activities tab and find a way to make that information populate to its respective tab depending on whether it is income or expense.

so it is basically if the type of transaction is expense then it would show in the expense tab and so on.

thanks in advance for your help.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Hi Jay - welcome to the Board :)

What you're describing could be easily achieved using a FILTER() function, assuming there's a column on your Daily Activities sheet that could be used to distinguish Income from expense entries. Before offering any suggestions, it would be useful to see your actual data layout. Could you please post a sample of your Daily Activities sheet with about 8-10 entries using the XL2BB add in, or alternatively, share your file via Google Drive, Dropbox or similar file sharing platform? You an easily disguise any sensitive information.
