Hi all,

i am wondering whether it is possible to design a workbook which can act as an inventory manual for multiple customers, for example say you had 3 different customers and you supported their pc systems - you would requirre a kit list of the base unit monitor keyboard etc. but yet some items overlap and some do not.

I have thought on this for a while - and it is possible to create a new worksheet based on a template and enter all of the data, stylise etc. then you can use a hyperlinked front end.

The problem this method causes is that you could end up with a very large and unmanagable file.

I am aware of index matching and i feel that thi may be advantagious but will only return information to one cell, if i am matching base units under one customer i would just receive one of many units into the cell if i had a data field which looked like

item no. description customer unit type

can this be done or should i give up now?

basically i would like a hyperlinked front end to navigate through the customer stock - a search facility using index match - and self populating fields so if i went to a customers page it would display all printers - base units etc in their own groups.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
