Type: dd/mm/yy "("ddd")";@
Shows: 01/04/18 (Sun)

However, I want "Sun" to only show "Su".

The following idea doesn't work:

Type: dd/mm/yy "("dd")";@
Shows: 01/04/18 (01)

Any ideas?

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Hi,

You can use following

Code:
=CHOOSE(WEEKDAY(yourdate),"Su","Mo","Tu","We","Th","Fr","Sa")

If you date is in A1 then this will also work;

Code:
=LEFT(TEXT(A1,"dddd"),2)

If you're talking about custom cell format, I'm not sure that's possible for days.
