Good day.
I want to have my mouse hover over cells in a column. In the adjacent cell is the file name of the image (extension not included). The file location of these images is specified in a 'system' sheet in the same workbook.
Hovering over the cell must pop up this jpeg image next to this cell and let it dissapear again when I move the mouse away from the cell. Can you possibly assist me in this matter please?

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
It’s not easy to detect a mouse hovering over naked cells.

Would you accept some aid added, such as transparent shapes on top of the cells?

Hi
You could put the images into a comment box that will respond to a mouse-over.
Take a look here

There is a sample file on the site that you can download and adapt the code.

The alternative to using a comment box would be to use an image over the cell as Worf suggested

This looks like a relative easy solution thank you. I am worried though that the number of images (or files in the comment box might make the pack slow or unresponsive as I expect to have in this case easily a thousand or more images and in the end the same image will be displayed numerous times because although I have a unique identifier, the order of this item can happen several times. If I do follow this approach i will then rather load all images once in an image sheet and work from thereon
