Hello Board Members,

I'm downloading data from an online Japanese survey that I want to import to Excel. When the data is imported to Excel, I'm receiving the following type of text:

会社の方向性をわかっている。

Is there any type of option I can set in Excel that will convert this code into the actual Japanese characters and display them in Excel?

あなたに感謝しなさい
(Thank you!)

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Ah, I do have it installed (Japanese character set), but I realized that the msg board converted the code. What I'm seeing in Excel is a string of code containing 8 characters (ampersand - pound - 5 digit number - semicolon)

Thanks!

That &#number; stuff is actually HTML code. That's why the board was able to show it as intended.
