Display Excel File Status

I'm building a simple dashboard with command buttons to open other excel sheets from this central dashboard.

I'd like to display next to each button whether the excel workbook being opened is already open and by which user. Is this possible?
 

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
