Hi, all. I am looking to see if anyone knows if it is possible to display the Equation of the Line outside the chart itself so I can use it in calculations. In the attached I have a simple line graph displaying the line formula within the chart but wanted to know if it is possible to have this formula displayed in say cell A1?

Thanks in advance

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
Try using the following formulas for the slope and y-intercept:
Excel Formula:
=INDEX(LINEST(known_y's,known_x's),1)
=INDEX(LINEST(known_y's,known_x's),2)

Hi, Tetra201. Thanks for your reply.

I get #Value! when I try that. This might only work for straight line graphs though. I was hoping to have the formula outside so that if I changed the Trendline Option to say log or polynomial the formula would change and my calculation could change with it
