Display cell value in status bar?

Hi All,

Is there a way to have a value from a cell show up in the status bar versus using the watch window? I want to monitor a cell as I change values in the worksheet, but I want the results to be somewhat subdued compared to the watch window.

What's triggering the change in the cell you want to monitor? Calculation?

If so you can use:

<font face=Calibri><SPAN style="color:#00007F">Private</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN> Worksheet_Calculate()<br>    Application.StatusBar = "A1's Value is: " & Range("A1").Value<br><SPAN style="color:#00007F">End</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN><br></FONT>

It's up to you how you want to reset it.

Thanks that works great. Yes I am monitoring a cell which is changed through calculations throughout the sheet. How could I incorporate maybe a delay and then the value goes away?

Maybe like Application.Wait (Now() + TimeValue("0:00:10"))

You could do that, but you'll have to wait for it to finish:

If you don't want to wait for it to finish, you can do it this way:

In the worksheet module:

Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()
    Application.StatusBar = "A1's Value is: " & Range("A1").Value
    Application.OnTime Now + TimeValue("00:00:05"), "clearstatus"
End Sub

and in a standard module:

Private Sub clearstatus()
Application.StatusBar = False
End Sub
