Everyone uses databases for their own purposes, I am a financial analyst and do a lot of revenue reporting and tracking. Using Referential Integrity in the database assists me in making sure that every penny is captured when data is imported or when I create queries or reports.

My question is. I use Referential Integrity on most of my databases. Do you do to? The reason I bring it up, is because it is a PAIN using Referential Integrity, but it does do its job. What are your thoughts on this.

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
It all depends on your needs. I use it whenever I can. It should only be a pain when you are bringing in data from other sources. If you are using a db that you designed, then it shouldn't be a problem.

My 2¢,

Russell
