Would it be a proper statement to say that no attribute in dimension table would ever be used in the values section of a pivot table?

I suppose I should have claryfied it that way yes. I am struggling a bit because I see it from a Database point of view not an entirely Pivot Table one. Lookup tables typically are 1:1 in DB. In this case the Dimension table (lookup) could serve multiple purposes. But generally would be for non aggregate fields.
