Difficult replace formula

Hi All,

I need help with the replace formula in excel.

I want to count all characters in a cell and replace all counted characters with a *
For example

1234 must be replaced by ****
123456 must be replaced by ******
ExcelDennis must be replaced by ***********

Try:

=REPT("*",LEN(A1))

 

[RoryA]

That would be something like:

=REPT("*",LEN(A1))

where A1 contains the text.
