Hi All,

I'm trying to create a monthly report for my business, but facing some issue sorting the spread sheet.

As you can see in the image, I have multiple rows of sales information belongs to each individual.

When I try to sort the employees' name alphabetically and extend the selection to the sales info to the right,

It gave me an error message

I have no problem sorting names with only single row of sales data with extended selection, but I cannot get it to work if there are multiple rows associate with one name.

I've tried to group the information with a single name, but either I didn't do it correctly or that's not how you do it, I couldn't get it to work. This may be a silly question, but I have spent hours trying to figure it out. Please HELP!!

Thank you very much for your kind help.

Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
You are probably getting sorting errors due to your cells being merged. To solve this you should 'Unmerge' all of those cells, then put copy/paste names down to each of the rows (see below). Putting it in the below format should allow you to sort.

A5 = Fiona | B5 = Shi-nail
A6 = Fiona | B6 = Blue
A7 = Fiona | B7 = Versante
A8 = Fiona | B8 = Hours
A9 = Fiona | B9 = Tips
A10 = Emma | B10 = Shi-nail
A11 = Emma | B11 = Blue
A12 = Emma | B12 = Versante
etc...

If you put your information into a format like the above, then perhaps you could combine it with a pivot table. Hope this helps.
