I need a conditional format- the one I know will not work :(
Here is what I need: IF i8 says "beaumont" then I need the numbers in L8 to copy over into T8
another example
If i11 contains "Ocala" I need the numbers that are put into L11 to copy over into T11
Tried this and it does not work:
=IF(i8="BEAUMONT",L8,"")

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.

Conditional Formatting is used to set-up formatting, not putting values in certain cells.
Just put your formula directly in cell T8, and it will do what you want.

I will also need to apply this to T5 through Tinfinity... as well as about 15-20 other columns

You should be able to copy the formula from cell T8 down for all your rows, and it should automatically adjust the formula the way you need.

as well as about 15-20 other columns
Likewise, just set up the formula the way you need it to work for the first row, and then copy it down for the test of the rows.

But isn't it conditional to which word is entered into the 'i' column? I'm not sure how to tell cell T8 to pull the number from L8 if i 8 says "beaumont"

I understand now... I was trying to use the conditional formatting tab instead of just typing it.. I thought you meant i didn't need '=if' at all.
Thank you!

You are welcome.

Don't confuse Conditional Formatting with Conditional Formulas!
Conditional Formatting can only ever format cells, it cannot return values to anything.
