Hello,

I'm trying to make a dependent dropdown list in the "Model" section B1, in A1 a drop down has been created and I defined a name on the Formulas tab, create from selection tab.

On the data validation, I am inputing as a list the formula =INDIRECT(B2). Receiving an error message "A source currently values to an error".

I would appreciate a little bit of help. I check some videos on how to do this and it seems I done everything correct so I don't know why I am getting this error message.

Thank you,

E.A.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
The names must be created without spaces, you can use the "_", for example, for "Daikin Applied" the name is created as "Daikin_Applied".
In the formula you replace the " " (space) with the "_"

The formula on data validation:
<tbody>
=INDIRECT(SUBSTITUTE($A2," ","_"))
</tbody>
You can see 2 examples in the file:

I got it working. Thank you for pointing out I was missing the substitution for "_".

I appreciate your time.
