Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.

I think we need a little more details Rick. At minimum, show up where and how did it get there? If you have code or formulas, posting them in addition to your description would be helpful as too.

Sorry, I have a cell with data validation from a list. In the list I can add the delta symbol after a digit and it shows properly. But in the cell refering to the list, the symbol shows up as a capital D

Format the cell (or character within a cell) to use font Symbol, or use the UNICODE delta character (U+0394).

EDIT:

Sorry, I have a cell with data validation from a list.
UNICODE.

That would be related to the "how did it get there" part of my question to you. Exactly how are you "adding" the delta symbol after the digit?

If you do ...

Insert > Symbol
Font: (normal text)
from: Unicode (hex)
Character: 394

... it will work fine.

I believe I did, character code 0044 from unicode (hex), according to the dialogue box.....I could make this work as suggested from above by changing my font to symbol in the data validation cell, but in my list there is also a "Y" which then shows up as a greek Y
