Deleting Entire Row on Excel 2010 v 2007

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me.

I recently got a new laptop to replace my 6 year old one. The new one has Excel 2010 on it, whereas the old one had Excel 2007.

In a particular large-ish file (8mb & 60ish sheets), when I delete an entire row in Excel 2010, it takes about 7-8 seconds and then deletes it. In Excel 2007, this deletes straight away without it even thinking.

It happens when I do it in a macro using .EntireRow.Delete or if I do it manually be right clicking on the row and selecting delete.

This isn't a massive problem when I'm only deleting one row, but I have a macro that runs through all the sheets and deletes rows on them. So, using Excel 2010, it has substantially increased the time taken to run my macro (more than doubled it).

Has anybody got any ideas why this is happening or can anyone offer any possible remedies to this?

Have you tried setting Calculation to Manual?

Ah cr*p! I know you've helped me a lot before Andrew so if you can't help me, I don't know who can!!!

I'm going to test it on excel 2013 on my wife's machine and then I'll have to start manually debugging it by copying all values and then if that works, I'll have to remove one sheet at a time to see if it is any one sheet that is causing the problem!...although since it works in 2007, I don't know why a sheet would be causing a problem?!
