Deleting content from certains cells

Excel Facts

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
Excel74,

Give this a try.

Code:
Sub Delete2017()
Dim lc As Long
Dim lr As Long
Dim i As Long

lc = Cells(7, Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft).Column

For i = 4 To lc
    If Cells(7, i).Value = "2017" Then
        lr = Cells(Rows.Count, i).End(xlUp).Row
        Range(Cells(8, i), Cells(lr, i)).ClearContents
    End If
Next i

End Sub

Excel74,

        Range(Cells(8, i), Cells(lr, i)).ClearContents
    End If
Next i

End Sub

Hey Frank, it worked but what I actually need is to clear contents only on the row that I need to redo. For example if I place myself on row 26, clear only the entire row 26 where 2017 (row 7) is and leave 2016 content as they are.

Okay this code takes action only on the current row (where your cursor is) when you execute the macro

Code:
Sub Delete2017()
Dim lc As Long
Dim i As Long
Dim activerow As Long

lc = Cells(7, Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft).Column

activerow = ActiveCell.Row

For i = 4 To lc
    If Cells(7, i).Value = "2017" Then
        Cells(activerow, i).Value = ""
    End If
Next i

End Sub
