Hi All, for some reason today, my model has started to misbehave.

If I highlight a column and press DEL, it takes up to 5 seconds, even though ther is only 200 rows. I tried just hiughlting the 200 cells an dthe same happens.
If I selected a cell and paste data copied fro the web, it can take up to 15 seconds.

Until today, these two process were almost immediate.

I have recently updated to windows 11, but do not suspect that is the problem.
I have run each sub independtly and it is definety the DEL function and the PASTE function that causes a traffice jam. I get the blue spinning circle and the Excel stopped responding message , but if i wait long enough it comes back.

I have done several OPEN and Repair and also manually deleted phantom range endings.

So I am little perplexed.

Any ideas what could be happening?

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
Do you have Windows updates or Office updates in suspension ?
Is it a shared file ?

Solution
Hi Rollis,

thanks for that. I figured it out. Rooky mistake I'm afraid. I did a windows update at the same time that I did a code copy from one workbook to another and used the wrong last row variable. So instead of looking to copy/delete/paste of 250 rows, i was doing 22,000 rows. As Homer Simpson would say DOH!.
