This just started happening a couple months ago, not sure what changed.

I have multiple journal entry files that I complete weekly, and I used to be able to keep the same find/replace values to update all files each week for the current dates. Now whenever I get into the next file I'm working on, the replace value is the same as what I used in the previous file, but the find value is replaced with "PutCtData".

I did do a couple searches on google and the only mention I could find of this PutCtData is when someone is talking about using this to push data from Excel into SAP, but I do not have SAP on my computer. It seems to be some kind of add-in from what I could tell, but I've never used it or attempted to use it.

Not sure if this helps, but I do use the ctrl key shortcuts (+F or +H for find or find/replace). I'm so used to using the shortcuts that I keep forgetting to see if this also happens if I go through the edit menu. Also, I have done numerous shutdowns and restarts since this started happening, so if it's somehow some kind of clipboard error, it keeps reoccurring somehow.

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Did you ever find the answer to this question? I came here to ask the same thing.

I'm sorry, it's been so long that I don't recall how this resolved. At some point they reimaged my hard drive, but I don't recall if the problem had persisted up until that point. Good luck!
