Hi,

I have the following code. It worked previously, but for some reason, it won't work now!

I get an error when I try to Set TRF below...

Code:
s = "Nov Trend Report.xlsx"
v = Left(s, Len(s) - 5)
Windows("Trend Report Model.xlsm").Activate
Dim TRF As Workbook
Set TRF = Workbooks(v)

I have 2 workbooks open and I want to copy sheets from one workbook to another using a macro.

Any idea why I'm getting a "Run-time error '9': Subscript out of range" error?

Cheers,

Eoin

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Thanks,

That works....

I had v in the for a reason and I can't remember why....and it worked with v for the past 2 months, which is strange!

Anyway, thanks for your help.

It depends on your Windows settings. If you have Windows Explorer display file extensions then you must include the extension when referring to a workbook in VBA.

Ah great...I actually just changed that setting recently.

That's really good to know.

Is there any way to say,

If Set TRF = Workbooks(v) throws an error, use Set TRF = Workbooks(s)

There's no need - just use the latter syntax as it will work with either setting for explorer.
