=day(today()) creates a counter for the current day in a month.

Is there a simple way to create the same but for the year? (e.g. if today were the February 1st = the "32" number is displayed)

I admire how you decomposed the task in such tight formula. I really appreciate it!

Is there a simple way to do the trick for the predefined date (e.g. June 1st 2023)?

Is that in place of 1st Jan? If so it will return a negative number until you get to the first of June.

I don't get it.
What I want is to obtain an ordinal number for the "June 1 2023" = 152

A Date in Excel is the number of days since 1/1/1900. June 1, 20203 is 45078. The value 152 is the number of days since 1/1/2023. You need to clarify your objectives.

How about
Excel Formula:
=A2-DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),1,0)
where A2 is the date you're interested in.
