DAX HASONEVALUE

Hello,
Can someone explain or point me in the right direction, regarding hasonevalue,
and how it regards a void or null , for example when wanting to retain only a total :

   IF ( HASONEVALUE( table , column ) , "", measure )

type of thing if one 'row ' does not have a value how does the function read it?

I don’t know, but I know how to learn DAX. Write a test measure
test = hasonevalue(factTable[random column])
this will return true or false
now add some slicers to see what happens when there is a null

Thanks, I'll try that. I liked the advice in your book about breaking things down into component parts, I do have another quesion,
but am working on what the problem actually is.
