Dates not importing correctly into PowerPivot

Hi, I am working on several projects using PowerPivot. The first requires me to create a linked table of dates ranging from the start of a project to the finish. When creating this linked table the dates are converting to a different format. In the excel sheet I have date format dd/mm/yyyy and in the PowerPivot window the date format becomes mm/dd/yyyy (ie March 1, 2014 converts to January 3, 2014). This is also happening when I import data from a SQL server. I have been looking up solutions to this problem but there doesn't seem to be any answers available that have worked for me so far.

I would really appreciate the help!

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
I suppose I would try changing the "format" in the Powerpivot window (to dd/mm/yyyy, I guess), and if that doesn't work... uh, import the column as text, parse it and create the date correctly via formula? :( Bummer.

Maybe a Calculated Column in your imported date and point DATEVALUE at the warped out date and use that as the linking table between the two.

Or just give Scott a copy. That dude can fix anything.
