Dates in Chart all wrong

In spite of my having selected the dates i want to appear in the x axis my chart continues to return automatic dates (01 jan 00...)
I have tried every variant of axis formatting. I have made sure that the column in question is formatted correctly, i have selected and deselected the range.. I am perplexed... all my other charts based on this data have worked fine.

I would post a pic of the issue but cant figure out how to do that

I may not have time to resolve this, I was merely pointing out you cant attach files on the forum.
