Hey Team,

Is it possible to put in the month (say October) and then have it autofill certain boxes with the dates for that month?

I'll attach a work book.
So ideally you'll enter the month in A1 and it will change the boxes marked d/mm/yy with the dates descending.

Thanks
Clyde

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.

Can you provide a sample table of what you want it to look like or provide a description of what information would go into what rows/columns?

That would help in developing formulas.

As far as excel is concerned, October (or any other month name) is just a bunch of random letters, it is not a date. A date is a numerical value representing how many days have elapsed since 1/0/1900, and then shown in a way that we recognize as a date.

Having said all that, yes, it is possible to do what you want using =DATEVALUE()
=1&$A$1&2017
You could then just add 1 to that, for each cell, and include a test to make sure the month did not change - to catch those short months
=if(month(A1)=month(a1+1),A1+1,"")
