Date in mdb file changes DD/MM/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY ?why

hi group,
i have this problem, i have a database made in access, its a inventory database, so in order go get different data from the file i need to import it to Excel thru a PIVOT table, when i do so the DATE, changes from DD/MM to MM/DD,
thought that the problem was in my computers date format, fixed that
when i check the MDB file the dates are ok
but when import them to Excel it shows me 11/1/2004 as 11 january/2004 instead of 1 november 2004, and wise versa, zome of the records are ok, some are with inverted DATE, it makes no sense
can someboody help me
this mdb file, is a part of a inventory software. but i you excel to make some other kind of sale analysis..

or is there a way to separate the DATE to date, month, year in separate cells

Hi, I can't answer your question directly, but in repsonse to this question :

yes you can break up the date into the day, month and year, as follows :

Day = Day([your date variable name])
Month = Month([your date variable name])
Year = Year([your date variable name])

By using three variables instead of the one date field you should be able to work around the problem.

Sorry I haven't solved the problem directly but this might help you in the mean time.

Hi..

I get this too.. I simply changed all the cells in that column to a custom format of dd/mm/yyyy.. although there is dd/mm/yyyy in under DATE format.. this did'nt work.. you have to use CUSTOM..
