Hello,

Looking for assistance to break out dd hh:mm:ss format into two columns.

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
What exactly do you want your output to look like?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

If you are simply trying to split based on the space, it is really easy to do in the new versions of Excel that have the TEXTBEFORE and TEXTAFTER functions.

Quick follow up. I'm trying to use the data in a pivot table and the information is entered into one cell as dd hh:mm:ss. How would I break this out if I wanted to manipulate the data? I have two columns next to each other with dd hh:mm:ss format with different times and I want to calculate the time elapsed between them. Anything helps!

I see that you posted the question here: Date Time Comparison
so, I will let that be the current thread for the new question and close this one.
