Date format

In column A i have date. But it is in U.S. format. I changed the system format to dd/mm/yyyy U.K. format and also in cell custom format to dd/mm/yyyy U.K. format. But still it displays U.S. format in column A

That would suggest that the dates are actually text. You can select them, use the Text to Columns tool (on the Data tab), specify delimited, then leave all delimiters off in the next step and in the final step specify that the column contains dates in DMY format, then Finish. That should convert them to proper dates.
