date format out of whack

The issue is whenever I enter a date in a column it is returning the value 07/05/2147 no matter what cell you choose to type in. I ran a Scandisk and Norton Anti-Virus scan on it. Neither helped. If either one of you guys gets a chance to take a look at it and have any ideas, I'd appreciate it.
 

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
That sounds a bit odd..

Do you have a custom format already in place? How about any vba code?

hermmm..I can't think of anything else off the top of my head that would cause that. If you'd like, feel free to send me the file and I'll sniff it out a bit.
