Morning

I have searched high and low and cannot find a real solution to my problem which is:

I have a CSV file - this is a request by my client for uploading purposes, so we cannot change to Excel. We enter the date and change the format - everything looks good. We save and do the upload, but when my client opens it at the other end, the date format has changed back to the way it was when we received it.

Is there a way to prevent or make it easy to change ?

I have tried adding in fields to look at the date and change it, but even that changes when you open it again.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Regards

Iain

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
have you investigated date settings between yours and their machine,
opening your sent over file from your archive, are they displayed as intended at your end

Hi There

I was thinking of looking at the regional settings, but who knows where files go - so there has to be a better way than ensuring everyone's settings are correct.

beyond explaining this is expected, so can you change your system to output so the client gets what they need ?

If you use txt rather than csv you will get the option to choose the date format at Step 3 of the Text Import Wizard.

Thanks Andrew for your comments, but as I mentioned:
