Hi All,

I have a huge list of dates that I need to sort based on the month. However, I am unable to format some of the dates, no matter whatever format I chose in Excel.
Below, I have provided a sample of the list which contains four dates. The first two can be easily formatted, but the last two stays the same irrespective of the format I choose in Excel. U even tried pasting these dates in notepad to avoid any formatting, with no luck.

12/09/2019
12/09/2019
14/09/2019
15/09/2019

Any help is appreciated.

Excel Facts

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
The dates are in dd/mm/yyyy format but your PC region is mm/dd/yyyy so 14/09/2019 and 15/09/2019 are treated as text fields.

Wow, that was really fast. Thank you very much Toadstool.
Is there a universal date format that I can follow in my PC so that Excel can always treat these as dates?

This one is universal...

YYYY-MM-DD

So September 12, 2019 would be entered like this...

2019-09-12
