Hello everyone!

I'm kinda struggling with custom maps for Datazen, since i want to import a custom map (different from the ones that come with datazen package) and i'm not managing to accomplish it.
Hopefully any of you could help me in this task perhaps? :P

I'v been reading here and there, and i discovered that:

1) Importing maps into datazen control panel requires to types of file: .shp and .dbf
2) Maximum size of .shp file must be 512KB only!
3) All shape files i'v found over the web, are too large to use in datazen (xxMB's of file size) :(
4) I'v been messing arround with and opensource app for modifying maps i'v found using google, but the resulted shp files are to big and the process of creating those files are complex

So my question is: When Datazen producers limited in 512KB the file sizes, they were clearly thinking in simple maps. Where can i get some kind of maps?

Tanks for your help in advance! :)

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
hi everyone!

Just letting you know that i solved this issue.
The steps i took, as sugested in Datazen Docs, were:
1. I went this website to download some maps of my country: Free Spatial Data | DIVA-GIS
2. I instaled this free GIS: Welcome to the QGIS project!
3. I folwed the steps explained in this blog: Creating a custom map for Datazen | barmartland

Since my country has islands and a continent, i need to mess arround some more with this maps and GIS app in order to get better resolution.
But overall i belive i got this! :P

Tanks for your help, anyhow! :)
