DataSource Error, updating data live without closing down the first document

Hello there

I need to make a excel document where i get live updated data from another excel workbook. im struggling with using the Data -> Get Data -> From File -> From Workbook.
my problem is that it seems like i need to have the first document closed down in order for the second document to recieve the data from the first one. i made the second document update whenever it gets oppened and every 2 minutes. yet it just pops up with a message saying

This happens until i close down the first document.
Is there any fix to this? or should i use another method, if so which method to get the data from another woorkbook that is live updating the data. ?
Im kinda new at excel so feel free to break it down for me if possible.

For importing data with power query, your source file has to be closed first (only if you use the query and the source file on the same pc).
Other method is with VBA.

Perhaps converting the live updating workbook to a shared workbook would solve your issue (Ribbon > Review tab > Share workbook > check Allow changes ...)
