Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
"I can assign a unique code for a product but not all its variations as they keep changing"
You cannot validate anything if not in the database to validate against

Are you manufacturing these items yourself or buying them in?

The list includes ...
- Pluto Regular Brown
- Pluto Regular Ivory
- Pluto Regular White

You state that you have 1200 product..
Do you consider the above 3 items
... 1 product with 3 variations OR .... 3 products ?

Let me explain what I am trying to establish ..
Assume for the moment that Pluto Regular Red is NOT a valid option for the product
- is there anything, anywhere in your workbook, that we ask Excel to look up to determine if it is listed ?
