I'm using array formulae throughout my Excel workbook, and I'm working on part of a team. My reporting analyst will at times go through my workbooks to see how it works, but at times will absentmindedly hit 'return' instead of 'esc' when leaving an array formula, which breaks the array and gives a #N/A like any array formula would if you don't hit ctrl-shift-enter when leaving the cell.
I'm looking for a way to use data validation to create a pop-up window, essentially saying that "Hey, you didn't exit the array formula properly! Use ctrl-shift-enter." but only when leaving the cell results in an error. My attempt at creating a custom data validation (such as 'iserror(a1)=FALSE') doesn't work because the cell reference in there is static. Plus the validation doesn't seem to work right either; whether I have an error in there or a 45, the dialogue box still comes up.
And, of course I know that "be more careful" as advice is the best answer here. I tried that already.
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
