I have a data table running a large monte carlo simulation in excel.

My question is, is there a way to run the sim/table to update? Right now anytime I start to do something it will run automatically, but I won't want it to. The file will become slow and hard to work in and also mess with the current data that I want to collect.

Right now when I want to run it I just hit the delete key, but basically I want there to be a way where it will only run when I do a specific thing.

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
You can turn off Automatic Calculation and switch to Manual. Press F9 only when you want it to calculate.

Welcome to the Forum.
Unfortunatly not saying which version of Excel you are running is not overly helpful when suggesting options which often vary depending on the version.

If you have MS365 and its a true data table this might be an option:
